SIAS Report – April 2024

The South Island Action Shooters kicked off our season on March 3rd with our first match.  We shot in less than ideal conditions, Mother Nature threw everything at us, snow, hail, sleet, rain, sunshine, repeat, but there were 78 happy shooters who came out to “knock the rust off”.

We hosted the first of two Independent Shooters League matches for the season on March 17th. With 57 shooters in attendance, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect, shorts and sun burns were there in abundance.

The first 3 Gun match of the year was held on March 24th with 21 competitors, another beautiful day.

Our second SIAS match of the year is slated for April 7th. All matches are held at the Multi Purpose range and spectators are always welcome.

We held our second SIAS Range Safety Course of the year on March 16th. This mandatory 4 hour course covers the essentials that people need to know to come out and shoot matches with us.  For those of you who missed out on owning a handgun, you can still come out and shoot with us if you own a Pistol Calibre Carbine, PCC is an up and coming division in our sport.

Exciting news!  You can now register and pay for the SIAS Range Safety Course online!  Follow the link on the Club Calendar to the course description page and find the registration link.  Please note you MUST have completed Holster training before being allowed to take this course, unless of course you plan on shooting Pistol Calibre Carbine.
