A genuine conservationist is one who actively participates in our great outdoors and has a moral mission to conserve its fish and wildlife and their habitat. We at the Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association (VFGPA for short) are committed to ensuring the healthy survival and abundance of our fish and wildlife for generations to come.
The VFGPA is a non-profit club, managed and run by member volunteers.

History & Conservation
During the early period of settlement on southern Vancouver Island the abundance of fish and wildlife was abused and overused. Concern for the future of fish and wildlife spread. Immediately after World War I, a group of Victoria citizens, many of whom were returned servicemen, formed an association with the objective of protecting and conserving fish and wildlife.
The Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association (the Club) was incorporated on June 16, 1919. Since that time, the club has petitioned the government in the wise use of fish, wildlife, and other natural resources. We continue to support organizations such as the World Fisheries Trust, the Peninsula Streams Society, The Sooke Salmon Enhancement Society, the Freshwater Fisheries Society, and BCWF Zone 1 Ungulate Ungulate Enhancement, among others.
